Dr. Linda Rachele Burke teaches AP Environmental Science at John Jay High
School in Cross River, and is a director of the Bedford Audubon Society. Dr.
Burke, who holds an A.B. from Barnard College, Ph.D. from New York University,
and MBA from Pace University.
Dr. Burke was formerly on the faculty of the State University of New York at
Farmingdale and was the Assistant Director of Education at the New York
Botanical Garden. A palynologist by training, her present focus is on
encouraging an understanding and appreciation of the natural world in her
students, and training them to monitor stream quality under the auspices of the
Westchester County Citizen's Volunteer Monitoring Program.
