2002-2003 Christmas Bird Counts

Peekskill Count
The 48th Annual Peekskill Christmas Bird Count was conducted on Saturday, December 14. The Peekskill Count takes in much of northern Westchester from the Hudson River to I–684. Despite the inclement weather, 83 species were tallied, which is average for this count. Highlights of the Count included an Ovenbird at a Mount Kisco feeder, 3 Red-throated Loons at Croton Point Park, 4 Common Ravens on the ice at Croton Reservoir, an Eastern Meadowlark at Croton Point Park and 15 Bald Eagles found roosting around Croton and Amawalk Reservoirs  and along the Hudson River.
