2008-2009 Christmas Bird Counts

Putnam Christmas Bird Count
Forty-eight participants took part in the Putnam Christmas Bird Count, which was compiled by  Charles Roberto. The count was held on January 3, 2009 under partly cloudy skies with temperatures ranging from 20°-38°F. House Wren and Savannah Sparrow were new additions to the count. The following species set or tied high counts: Green-winged Teal, Wild Turkey, Bald Eagle, Sharp-shinned Hawk, Cooper's Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Pileated Woodpecker, and Common Raven.
