2009-2010 Christmas Bird Counts
Peekskill Count

Thirty six participants took part in the Peekskill Christmas Bird Count, which was conducted on Saturday, December 19, under cloudy skies with some light snow falling in the afternoon. Temperatures ranged from 18°F-28°F. Of the 88 species counted, Mute Swan, Wood Duck, Bufflehead, Great Cormorant, Peregrine Falcon, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and White-throated Sparrow produced record high counts. Three additional species, Redhead, American Coot, and American Pipit were seen during the count week (marked CW in the chart) but were not included in the totals.
